Born in Brazil, A. De Santammaro moved still young moved to the USA. He later lived for several years in Asia and in Europe. In all those places his favorite activity was to collect stories, registering ordinary people’s experiences and their interfacing with societies’ values.
A gay boy who grew up without positive references in literature, TV and movies, Santammaro aims at telling stories that highlight the everyday gay man’s life, his inner conflicts, insecurities, challenges, and immense transformational power.
Besides his husband of over 30 years, his family, and his friends, Santammaro is profoundly enamored of the cities of Chicago and São Paulo, where most of his stories takes place.
