At Luca's home, an elegantly appointed condo in Chicago's Near North Side.
Nathan asks Luca to play something on the piano.
Luca refuses, dismisses, rejects the idea, but Nathan is relentless. Luca finally gives up and opens the piano for the first time in months.
Luca then plays Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2.
“I know this one! Somehow, I know this one.” Nathan looked baffled.
“It was played by quite many virtuosos: Bugs Bunny, Tom and Jerry.”
“Aha! The cartoons! I knew I heard it before!”
“Not to forget the unforgettable Liberace.”
“Who?”
“Don’t tell me you never heard of Liberace?” Now Luca is baffled.
“Nope.”
“If I place two candelabra on the piano, will it illuminate your memory?”
“Not a clue what you’re talking about.”
“What about the episode on The Muppet Show?”
“You liked the Muppets?”
“Loved it. I have all the episodes in VHS—when I’m really tired, I put one of those tapes in the player and laugh my head off.”
“When I was little, I hated that show—I was afraid of the monsters.”
